Players retained/released thread
« on: May 13, 2018, 07:55:46 AM »
For those departing our great club, particularly Bradders, Ryan, Danny etc..I just wanted to say how magnificent you have all been and that your efforts over the years have been richly appreciated. I am aware that next years DFC line up will be competently different but for me the new Goalkeeper should be offered a full time contract and Pavey should not wait for a new manager to come in before signing on - 2 year contracts too.

If we are to make a statement of intent and be hot on the heels of our rivals then we need the players to be here at Dartford, if the ambition is National League then Football League, we need this calibre of player.

As for speculation, it would be great to sign Tom Champion from Barnet and re-unite him with Bonner.
Let's stop losing our best players to our rivals - even if it means having an overdraft! The club needs more investment and with such great facilities, surely very attractive for corporate involvment and partnership?

Sounds great in theory but I just don't think we have the finances.

To be one of the best 30 non league teams in the country has been a phenomenal achievement over the last 10 years. I am not sure how many people truly appreciate that.

I think we will need to prepare ourselves for a bit of a rocky road.

This topic has left me with a heavy heart, the thought that we will not see some of the aforementioned players again is just about sinking in.  However, it would be nice if the new head honcho could persuade the bulk of the existing players to sign on the dotted line.

As far as I am aware, Ryan is still undecided.  For me, he would  be the hardest player to replace, there can't be many wide players out there who could fill his boots.  It has already been pointed out by Parklife, he had a hand in over half of our goals this season.

I will say this to our current players; think long and hard before making a move away from Princes Park. Yes, you could possibly earn a few extra bucks elsewhere but can you guarantee first team football and better playing facilities.  If you want to progress, you will not get a better shop window to ply your trade than PP.

And very recently signed a 2 year contract extension as a player and coach with their academy.

I would've thought he's far to old to play for their academy 🤣🤣

Mark Onyemah was at Concord under Flanners but suddenly disappeared from there. A clash of personalities? Or just didn't get on?
Mark was rescued from Thurrock FC to have a very good season with us. Consistent throughout the season, probably our most consistent player.

Appears that Alex Brown has decided to try his luck else where next season if his Instagram account is to be believed.
