The Pure DFC Punter – 22nd October 2011

Dartford won their match at Cray Wanderers, although it was not as convincing as most would have liked. However, a win is a win.

The Darts enter a Brave New World on Saturday following the sale of Charlie Sheringham to AFC Bournemouth, and the visitors to Princes Park are Truro City. The Darts and Truro have never clashed before so we have no previous form to go on other than this season. Truro City have had their off-field problems, which seem to have affected their on-field form (defeated 7-2 in the FA Cup last weekend, and the weekend prior being defeated 5-2 at home).

Bets of the match:

The bookies seem to have this in mind when setting their prices, and there does not seem a lot of value about. Dartford are available at a measly 1.5 (1/2), and even the goal lines are poor value. Therefore, with a heavy heart, there will be NO BET on this match.

The Pure DFC Punter – 15th October 2011

The signs were there, and unfortunately, we didn’t pick up on them… Dartford’s trip to Boreham Wood was, ultimately, full of woe and it’s only the over 3.5 goals bet that comes in (fortunately, it gives us only a small loss over the three bets)

Dartford travel to Cray Wanderers in the FA Cup with Budweiser Third Qualifying Round on Saturday. Cray, in the Ryman Premier League, are underdogs with the bookmakers.

Bets of the match:

There aren’t a huge amount of markets at this point in the FA Cup, and whereas last time out in the competition, we swerved making a pick, this time we’ll be backing the Darts. Sometimes you have to look closely at the purest of form – Dartford are second in the division above Cray Wanderers, whom are having a decent time (5th in the Ryman Premier), but you would expect Dartford to win this game more often than not. Dartford are available at 1.8 (4/5 in old money) and I think this is good value, and will be taking 3 points of this.

3 points: Dartford @ 1.8 (Bet365)

The Pure DFC Punter – 8th October 2011

After ignoring Saturday’s cup match, we are back in Blue Square Bet South action away at Boreham Wood, a place which isn’t the happiest of DFC’s hunting grounds.

Current state of play

+5.42 units

Key stats:

– The Darts have only won at Boreham Wood once, February 2010, when Elliot Bradbrook’s goal sealed the victory for the Darts.

– In the last three fixtures against Boreham Wood, there have been over 2.5 goals (in fact, in the last two fixtures, you can chalk off 3.5 too!)

– Boreham Wood have won only two games this season, both at home.

Bets of the match:

I fancy there will be goals in Saturday’s match, as Boreham Wood will be wanting to make amends following their shock defeat to Slough Town in the FA Cup, and let’s be honest… the Darts look capable of scoring goals.

Over 3.5 is available at 2.62 with Boylesports, which we’ll take one point of.

We’ll also be taking one point of Dartford being ahead at HT and at FT (available at 2.8 with Paddy Power), and finally one point of Dartford to be leading at Half Time at a decent 2.5 with Coral

1 point: over 3.5 goals @ 2.62 (Boylesports)
1 point: Dartford HT/FT @ 2.8 (Paddy Power)
1 point: Dartford HT lead @ 2.5 (Coral)

The Pure DFC Punter – 1st October 2011

Three of our four points were successful, with the Darts leading at Half-Time, as well as over 3.5 goals coming in. This has left us currently with a profit of 5.42 units (if you backed every unit as £10 so far this season, you would be £50.42 in profit so far)

It’s the magic of the FA Cup (with Budweiser) this weekend, and Dartford host Harrow Borough, currently in the Ryman Premier.

Key stats:

– The Darts have only lost one of the FA Cup matches played on this day, and that was way back in 1904.

– Harrow Borough have only won twice in the league, both of these have been away though (Lowestoft Town and Horsham)

Bets of the match:

None – the only bet available at time of writing was a skimpy 30/100 offer on Dartford, and with the “magic of the FA Cup” at play, whom knows what will happen.

No bet

The Pure DFC Punter – 24th September 2011

The Darts’ home performances are starting to make the bookmakers aware of the perils of pricing up Dartford matches. After Tuesday, we were not successful in our two bets, but we move on.

Dartford host Tonbridge Angels on Saturday, and the Angels will be hoping for the positive side of their erratic form this season. Tonbridge have racked up heavy victories over Maidenhead United, Eastleigh and Salisbury City, yet have been trounced by Sutton United, Farnborough and Woking… what to make of them???

Key stats:

– Dartford FC won the last four matches against Tonbridge, including a friendly and last season’s Kent Senior Cup victory.

– Tonbridge have only been beaten once away from home this season (a 2-3 against Welling United)

– There has been over 3.5 goals in all but two of the Angels matches, and they were both 0-0 draws.

Bets of the match:

As mentioned earlier, the prices on Dartford are coming in quickly, so we will have to adapt by trying to find an edge. Over 3.5 goals in the match is available at 2.2 with Bwin, so we will take one point of that. Again, the half-time market is a potential gold mine, and with Dartford offered at 1.95 to be ahead at half-time, we’ll invest 2 points in that, and with Tuesday still in the mind, three of DFC’s home matches have ended 2-1, so one point of that at 7/1.

1 point: Over 3.5 goals @ 2.20 (Bwin)
2 points: Dartford HT @ 1.95 (Bet365)
1 point: Dartford 2 TAFC 1 @ 8.00 (Various)

The Pure DFC Punter – 20th September 2011

One hundred percent success rate on Saturday, as the Darts were ahead at both half-time and full time.

Dartford return to Princes Park on Tuesday to take on Staines Town in the Blue Square Bet South. The visitors have yet to win away from home, but two promising home results against Chelmsford City and Bromley will have Staines in good heart.

Key stats:

– Dartford FC have never beaten Staines Town (Five matches, three defeats and two draws)

– Staines Town have failed to be ahead at half-time away from home, whereas Dartford have been ahead in every home match.

Bets of the match:

Dartford to be ahead at full time and half time are best priced at 2.30 with league sponsors Blue Square, so we will have one point on that. There isn’t much that really tickles the fancy, price wise for this match so as the last two matches have been draws, you can get 17.00 (16/1) on the Darts to be leading at HT and Draw at full time. We’ll have half a point on that.

1 point: Dartford HT/FT @ 2.30 (Stan James)
0.5 point: Dartford HT/Draw FT @ 17.00 (Victor Chandler)

The Pure DFC Punter – 17th September 2011

As you were, it seems, after last weekend. Thankfully, the bet on Eastleigh didn’t come in as the Darts ran home 3-0 winners. The last minute own goal also meant that we made back our “cash” on the defeat of Eastleigh.

Current state of play

Dartford are back on the road against a Farnborough side whom have won two of their four home matches. The Darts, by contrast, have not won away from home since the opening game of the season, and have never won away against Farnborough. However, the Darts have bounced back well from their only defeat and are looking confident.

Key stats:

– The Darts recorded their only victory against Farnborough in January 2011, with a crushing four-one scoreline.

– 7/8 of Dartford’s matches have ended with over 2.5 goals, whereas only four of Farnborough’s eight have (two of which at home).

Bets of the match:

Dartford are only just favourites to win this match with the bookmakers, meaning that we’ll get a decent price. Stan James go 2.38 on the Darts which we will definitely take two points of.

The Darts have also been ahead in six of their eight matches at half time, and Victor Chandler go 3.00 (2/1) on Dartford to be ahead at the break and we’ll take a point of that.

2 points: Dartford @ 2.38 (Stan James)
1 point: Dartford HT @ 3.00 (Victor Chandler)

The Pure DFC Punter – 10th September 2011

No winners last week after the Darts slipped to defeat for the first time this season.

Dartford are back at Princes Park this Saturday, and will be hoping to extend their 100% record against an Eastleigh side who have only once won away from home this season.

Key stats:

– The Darts have only played Eastleigh five times, and in that period, have only scored one goal (2004, home). Four defeats and one 0-0 draw have been recorded in that period.

– All three of Eastleigh’s away games have contained 2.5 goals or more in, as have all of Dartford’s home matches.

Bets of the match:

The stats are compelling so far, and this will be the first time this season that I hope the result is that we lose our bets.

Dartford, although 100% at home so far, are, simply put, no value at all at a best price of 4/7 (Betfred, Stan James). Eastleigh, for a side who seem to hold the “sign” over Dartford, are available at 9/2 and we’ll take a small piece of that.

Over 2.5 goals is stingy value, but with both sides fulfilling the plus 2.5 goals, we’ll take that at 1/2 with Victor Chandler

2 points: +2.5 goals @ 1/2 (Victor Chandler)
1 point: Eastleigh @ 9/2 (Blue Square)

The Pure DFC Punter – 3rd September 2011

Things couldn’t have gone better for the Pure DFC Punter after Bank Holiday Monday’s match as both of the bets we placed came in, both the Dartford win and over 3.5 goals.

Current state of play

Saturday is the third Saturday away match for the Darts, and with Basingstoke Town currently having a mixed record at home (P3, W1, D1, L1, F8, A5), we reckon the Darts will be up for continuing their unbeaten run.

Key stats:

– Dartford have only lost 25% of their matches against Basingstoke Town before, drawing a further 25%.

– All of Basingstoke Town’s matches at home this season have seen over 2.5 goals, with all of Dartford’s matches (bar the 0-0 at Chelmsford City) seeing over 2.5.

Bets of the match:

If you’re thinking of backing Dartford, then go to Bet365 as they are currently offering 7/4 on Dartford (giving Basingstoke Town a 0.75 goal headstart) – E.g. if Dartford win 1-0/2-1/3-2 or by more than one goal. We will gladly take 1 point of this action, along with 1 point of Dartford to be leading at Half Time (15/8 with Bet365 and Victor Chandler)

We’ll also be putting one unit on Dartford to be winning at half time and full time in the match at 11/4 – the Darts have only been level at half-time once this season (v Chelmsford)

1 point: Dartford -0.75 (Asian Handicap) @ 7/4 (Bet365)
1 point: Dartford to be leading at Half Time @ 15/8 (Bet 365, VCBet)
1 point: Dartford HT/FT @ 11/4 (Bet365)

P/L so far: +3.16 units

The Pure DFC Punter – 29th August 2011

For the first time this season, we’re recording a loss, albeit only a small one after Saturday’s 0-0 draw.

Monday will see a replay of the Kent Senior Cup of last season, which as we’ll all know, the Darts won 4-1.

Key stats:

– Fourteen goals were scored in the fixtures against Bromley last year.

– The Darts have not lost on this day since 1994.

Bets of the match:

To be able to get over 4/5 on Dartford winning is, in this pages opinion, a bet worth having and we’ll be placing two points on this.

We’ll also be putting one unit on over 3.5 goals in the match at 2.62

2 point: Dartford to win @ 1.83 (Paddy Power)
1 point: Over 3.5 goals @ 2.62 (William Hill)

P/L so far: -0.12 units
