Hungerford Town have strengthened their squad with the signing of former Football League striker James Constable as a player/coach. Last season he has scored 13 times in the Southern League Premier Division with Poole Town. The 34-year-old has played for Walsall, Oxford United and Shrewsbury Town in the Football League, and also has National League experience with Eastleigh. Taking advantage of Weston-super-Mare’s relegation, Ian Herring signed midfielder Louis McGrory. A former Reading and Hearts of Midlothian under 20 player, Zidane Akers joins from Thatcham Town. Matt Berry-Hargreaves returns to Hungerford Town to add to their defence, Kofi Halliday will bolster wide attacking options having previously spent time playing in Gibraltar and Sweden and Liam Ferdinand will bring some extra firepower upfront joining from Bracknell Town.
The Manager – Ian Herring
He experienced two promotions via the playoffs as a player with Hungerford Town and now he leads the team off the field. Ian Herring was appointed as the Crusaders manager having played for the Berkshire club since 2012. The 35-year-old was given the task of keeping the Crusaders in the National South which has just about been completed on the final day of the last two season’s. Before a career with the Berkshire club, he played for Swindon Town, Salisbury City, Chippenham Town, Forest Green Rovers and Eastleigh.
