Forest Green Rovers v Dartford

Dartford face Forest Green Rovers in a replay for the second year in a row on Tuesday but this time in the F.A Trophy.

Once again, Jan Klukowski scored against the Darts to deny Saturday’s hosts a place in the second round. Danny Harris gave Tony Burman’s side a lead four minutes before the half time interval. The midfielder’s determination was key to the opener as Harris struck the ball beyond Sam Russell in the Rovers goal. Klukowski levelled the tie with just under twenty minutes on the clock leaving the scoreline as the same as last season’s F.A Cup fixture.

Without the suspended Lee Noble and Kenny Clark as well as the injured Alan Julian, Matthew Godden and Jason Prior, Dartford’s draw has finally put an end to a seven game losing streak.

The Darts will be hopeful not to repeat the replay result of last season when they were beaten at Princes Park 4-1. Klukowski notched a brace that day as Rovers earned a first round tie against Port Vale. However, the last two meetings at The New Lawn have been closer affairs. Forest Green Rovers edged out Dartford 1-0 just a month ago, thanks to James Norwood’s early goal and the Darts won 3-2 towards the tail end of last season’s Conference Premier campaign.

Tuesday night’s meeting will be the seventh time the two clubs have met since October 2012. The winner will earn a second round away tie against Northern Premier League side Chorley. The Magpies are currently second, a point behind leaders Skelmersdale United with three games in hand.
