The positivity around Dulwich Hamlet just keeps building after a drawn out battle to return home to Champion Hill last season. Once the London club were back where they belong, crowds swelled and now the club are looking further forwards. The success of Hamlet’s homecoming led to the fans and local community being consulted on whether a new ground will benefit the club, they have now made an application to build a new 4000 capacity stadium with an all-weather pitch.
On the pitch the squad has been strengthened, joining from Folkestone Invicta where he scored over 50 times in two seasons, Ade Yussuf will have the responsibility of getting goals for Hamlet. An impressive spell with Chatham Town five years ago earned him a high profile move to Dagenham and Redbridge. Ryan Case moves further South from Oxford City, the defender has also gained experience with Dorchester Town, Braintree Town, Poole Town and Bath City. A year ago, Kieran Monlouis was about to start the Scottish Premiership campaign with Hamilton Academicals. The midfielder left towards the end of last season to join Hemel Hempstead and will be starting this campaign at Champion Hill. Hamlet have signed central defender, Richard Orlu who almost won promotion with Welling United last term. He also spent four seasons with Dover Athletic which included promotion to the National League. Former Dart, Nathan Ferguson earned a move away from Champion Hill to League Two side Crawley Town, the midfielder had a loan spell with Dartford and played over 80 times for Dulwich Hamlet. Connor Hunte was on loan from Billericay Town last season and he has joined on a one-year contract. Returning for a second spell with the club, Dominic Vose will be part of Hamlet’s midfield. Rose has also swooped to sign former Dartford forward Danny Mills from Ebbsfleet United. Mills had a loan spell with Welling United last season and in the campaign before played 26 games for Dartford scoring six goals.
The Manager – Gavin Rose
Hamlet’s longest serving manager finally earned promotion to the National South and in his first season helped them to a mid-table finish. The former midfielder had spells with Wimbledon, Charlton Athletic, Queens Park Rangers, Southend United, Bromley, Gravesend & Northfleet and Walton & Hersham among others during his long career. Rose runs an academy which specialises in coaching youngsters and as a manager with Beckenham Town almost won the Kent League. Under his guidance, Hamlet won the Isthmian Division One South title five years ago and the Isthmian Premier League playoffs just over a year ago.
