The Rebels have benefited from Maidenhead United’s move to full-time football by signing Max Worsfold. The attacking midfielder was unable to commit to the Magpies and was snapped up by Slough Town manager’s Neil Baker and Jon Underwood. Striker, Ryan Bird will follow Worsfold from York Road to Arbour Park, he has Football League experience with Portsmouth, Yeovil Town, Cambridge United and Newport County and played for Dover Athletic in the National League. Departing the club are Louie Soares and Nathan Smart. After a successful pre-season Joe Grant returns to the club after previously appearing when Slough Town were in the Southern Premier League. The youngster had been playing at Bracknell Town where the Rebel’s have been tracking his progress.

The Managers – Neal Baker and Jon Underwood

Joint managers since May 2013, Neal Baker and Jon Underwood both came from Godalming Town. At 29-years-old a knee injury ended Baker’s playing career so he moved into management with Fleet Spurs in the Wessex League Division One. Underwood was managing Sandhurst Town before teaming up with Baker at Godalming Town. Whilst with the G’s the duo reached the Isthmian Division One South playoffs and lifted the Surrey Senior Cup. At Slough Town, Baker and Underwood have been part of an upward trend by guiding the club to promotion to the Southern Premier League, via the playoffs, the same promotion route to reach the National South just over a year ago.
